AN ACT concerning

Garrett County - County Commissioners Meetings

FOR the purpose of altering the days for regular session
meetings of the County Commissioners of Garrett County;
and making this Act an emergency measure.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

The Public Local Laws of Garrett County
Section 7-3

Article 12 - Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1971 Edition, as amended by Chapter 281
of the Acts of 1973)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as
follows:

Article 12 - Garrett County

7-3.

The County Commissioners of Garrett County shall meet
in regular session [on Monday of each week] ONE DAY OF EACH
WEEK WITH THE MEETING DAY TO BE APPROPRIATELY ADVERTISED IN
ADVANCE, and remain in session so long as may be necessary
to properly transact the business of the county. In
addition, each commissioner shall devote two days of each
week to carrying out the duties of the office.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1979. is hereby declared to be an
emergency measure and necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public health and safety and having been
passed by a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of
all the members elected to each of the two Houses of the
General Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date
of its passage.
