AN ACT concerning
State Police — Vouchers of the Superintendent
FOR the purpose of requiring that vouchers of the
Superintendent of the State Police be submitted in a
manner consistent with the practices required by the
Comptroller's office, and not be approved by the Board
of Public Works; and clarifying language.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 88B - State Police
Section 22(b)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:
Article 88B - State Police
22.
(b) The Superintendent [shall have] HAS THE authority
to approve vouchers in payment of expenses incurred by
employees in the discharge of their duties, including
expenses for lodging and subsistence while an employee is
away from the facility to which he is regularly assigned.
[Such] THESE vouchers shall be audited and paid from
appropriations to the Department in the manner prescribed by
law. Vouchers of the Superintendent [must be approved by
the Board of Public Works] SHALL BE SUBMITTED IN A MANNER
CONSISTENT WITH THE PRACTICES REQUIRED BY THE COMPTROLLER'S
OFFICE. Lodging and subsistence furnished employees at
facilities of the Department are not "expenses" within the
meaning of this section and may. be provided by the
Department to the extent permitted by appropriation and rule
of the Superintendent.
