SHALL SELECT A QUALIFIED INDIVIDUAL TO FILL ANY VACANCY ON
THE BOARD FOR THE REMAINDER OF THAT TERM AND UNTIL A
SUCCESSOR IS ELECTED AND QUALIFIES.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as Art.
77, §35A(b) — except the second sentence — the
fourth sentence of (c)(1), and the ninth sentence
of (c)(3) and Art. 77, §35A(d), (e), and (h).

The last sentence of present Art. 77, §36D (e) ,
which makes the provisions of Art. 77 applicable
to the Charles County Board, is deleted as
unnecessary.

In this section and throughout this title, all
present references to election procedures
including nomination, filing deadlines, filing
fees and provisions for nonpartisan elections are
transferred to Art. 33, the Election Code. For a
detailed cross—reference table to these
provisions, see the General Revisor's Note to
this title.

Art. 77, §35A(a), which deals with the
composition of the Charles County Board on
December 14, 1970, is deleted as obsolete.

The only other changes are in style.

3-402. CHAIRMAN.

THE COUNTY BOARD FROM TIME TO TIME SHALL ELECT A
CHAIRMAN FROM AMONG ITS MEMBERS.

3-403. COMPENSATION AND EXPENSES.

(A)       COMPENSATION.

A MEMBER OF THE COUNTY BOARD IS ENTITLED TO RECEIVE
$1,000 ANNUALLY AS COMPENSATION WHICH SHALL BE PAID
QUARTERLY.

(B)       EXPENSES.

THE CHAIRMAN OF THE COUNTY BOARD IS ENTITLED TO RECEIVE
$800 ANNUALLY AND THE OTHER MEMBERS $600 EACH ANNUALLY FOR
TRAVEL AND OTHER EXPENSES.
