(House Bill 187)

AN ACT concerning

Alcohol and Tobacco Tax Division

FOR the purpose of correcting the name of the Alcohol and
Tobacco Tax Division in the Comptroller's Office and
correcting the name of the Maryland Alcohol and Tobacco
Tax Enforcement unit within the Division.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 2B — Alcoholic Beverages

Section 3(f)(6), 189(b) and (c), and 191(a) and (b)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1976 Replacement Volume and 1977 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 2B — Alcoholic Beverages

3.

(f) (6) An officer confiscating any unlicensed
distillery or unlawful distillery materials, equipment or
devices under circumstances which render it impractical or
impossible to remove the same to a safe place of custody and
storage, or confiscating any illicit alcoholic beverages,
except that seized for evidence or forfeiture, shall
forthwith destroy the same only insofar as is necessary to
render it unfit for further unlawful use and shall report
such confiscation and destruction to the [alcoholic
beverages] ALCOHOL AND TOBACCO TAX division of the
Comptroller of the Treasury of Maryland.

(b) The Comptroller is authorized to delegate his
authority under this article to the [chief] DIRECTOR of the
