AN ACT concerning

Corrective Bill - Article 100,
"Work, Labor and Employment"

FOR the purpose of correcting technical errors in certain
sections of Article 100 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 100 — Work, Labor and Employment

Section 4(c)(10)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1964 Replacement Volume and 1977 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 100 — Work, Labor and Employment

(c) "Employ," "employed," or "employment" includes to
suffer or permit to work, but does not include the following
activities if performed outside of the prescribed school
day, and if the activity does not involve mining,
manufacturing, or hazardous occupations;

(10) Hazardous work performed by nonpaid
volunteers of a volunteer fire department or company or
volunteer rescue squad who have completed or are taking a
course of study relating to fire fighting or rescue and who
(is] ARE 16 years of age or older.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1978.
