Present Art. 77A, §59(f) is deleted as
unnecessary in light of the similar general
provisions of §18-106 of this title.

As to subsection (c)(1) of this section, see the
revisor's note to §18-802 of this title.

GENERAL REVISOR'S NOTE;

Article 77A, §51, which provides for the withdrawal of
institutions from an old waiver of tuition program is
deleted as obsolete. The program was repealed by Ch. 469,
Acts of 1967. The program provided one scholarship for each
public and private college in this State.

Article 77A, §52, which requires the State Scholarship
Board to enforce the bonds of the recipients of teacher
tuition waivers is combined with similar provisions relating
to other scholarships and now appears in Subtitle 1 of this
title.

Article 77A, §53, which specifies the procedure for the
recipient of a tuition waiver for teacher training to
satisfy his bond is deleted as obsolete. The program
referred to was repealed by Ch. 469, Acts of 1967.

SUBTITLE 8. MEDICAL, DENTAL, AND NURSING SCHOLARSHIPS.

18-801. COUNTY SCHOLARSHIPS.

(A)       AUTHORIZED.

EACH COUNTY MAY ESTABLISH A PROGRAM OF COUNTY
SCHOLARSHIPS FOR STUDENTS OF MEDICINE, DENTISTRY, OR
NURSING, AND MAY LEVY AND PAY ANY AMOUNT REQUIRED FOR THIS
PURPOSE.

(B)   AMOUNT OF AWARD; SELECTION OF RECIPIENTS.

THE COUNTY GOVERNING BODY COUNCIL, BOARD OF COUNTY

COMMISSIONERS,__OR MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF BALTIMORE CITY

MAY DETERMINE THE AMOUNT TO BE AWARDED, THE NUMBER OF THESE
SCHOLARSHIPS, AND THE METHOD OF SELECTING THE RECIPIENTS.

(C)   DURATION AND USE OF AWARD.

AN AWARD GRANTED UNDER THIS SECTION:

(1)   MAY NOT BE HELD BY THE SAME STUDENT FOR MORE
THAN 4 YEARS; AND

(2) MAY BE USED FOR EDUCATIONAL EXPENSES,
INCLUDING:
