Agency Code of Ethics
Each appointing authority in the executive branch of
the State government, which shall include all departments,
commissions, boards, and authorities whose agency head or
members are appointed by the Governor, is directed to adopt
this Code of Ethics and to require all of its officers and
employees to comply with the standards of ethical conduct
prescribed herein. Each appointing authority shall submit a
written report to the Governor describing the action that
has been taken in promulgating the standards of ethical
conduct set forth in this code.
PROCLAMATION OF SEPTEMBER 18, 1977
BROOKS ROBINSON DAY
WHEREAS, Brooks Robinson, as the finest third baseman ever
to play Major League baseball, has made a lasting
contribution to the Baltimore Orioles, the City of
Baltimore and the State of Maryland and to the world of
sporting endeavor; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his career, his extraordinary deeds on
and off the baseball diamond have marked him as one of
Maryland's most precious natural resources, and have
won for him the admiration and affection of countless
fans around the world; and
WHEREAS, It is fitting that all Marylanders join in
saluting the achievements of this outstanding citizen
of our State whose personal character and abilities
stand as a model for all people, young and old alike;
and
WHEREAS, To commemorate his 23 years as Baltimore's most
beloved Oriole, Brooks Robinson is being honored by his
fans and the community on "Thanks Brooks" Day, Sunday,
September 18 at Memorial Stadium;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, BLAIR LEE III, Acting Governor of the
State of Maryland, do hereby proclaim September 18,
1977, as
BROOKS ROBINSON DAY
in Maryland, and I commend this observance to all our
citizens.
