BLAIR LEE III, Acting Governor                        309 5

1.   "...[ E]very Law enacted by the General Assembly shall
embrace but one subject, and that shall be described in
its title;...."

2.   Since House Bill 1877 would make the changes in form
which Senate Bill 1181 would have made in Section 159,
we recommend that House Bill 1877 be approved before
Senate Bill 1181. In this fashion, the amendments
which appear in lines 139-141 1/2, 161-168, 194-195 and
200-207 1/2 of Senate Bill 1181 may all be given
effect.

Senate Bill No. 1236 — Baltimore City — Code of Public

Local Laws

AN ACT concerning

Baltimore City - Code of Public Local Laws

FOR the purpose of repealing obsolete provisions in the 1969
Edition of the Code of Public Local Laws of Baltimore
City; and legalizing the 1977 Cumulative Supplement
thereto.

May 29, 1978
Honorable Steny H. Hoyer
President of the Senate
State House
Annapolis, Maryland 21404

Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 1236.

This till repeals certain obsolete provisions in the
Local Laws of Baltimore City and legalizes the 1977
Cumulative Supplement.

House Bill 2089, which was enacted by the General
Assembly and signed by me on May 16, 1978, accomplishes the
same purpose.

Therefore it is unnecessary for me to sign Senate Bill
1236.
