Senate Bill No- 849 — Motor Vehicle Administration
and Federal Courts

AN ACT concerning

Motor Vehicle Administration and Federal Courts

FOR the purpose of providing a means by which certain
federal courts may request the imposition of certain
administrative penalties on certain persons and
vehicles by the Motor Vehicle Administration under
certain circumstances.

May 29, 1978
Honorable Steny H. Hoyer
President of the Senate
State House
Annapolis, Maryland 21404

Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 849.

This bill empowers the Motor Vehicle Administration to
impose administrative penalties for violations of Federal
Traffic and Parking Laws.

House Bill 1479, which was enacted by the General
Assembly and signed by me on May 16, 1978, accomplishes the
same purpose.

Therefore it is unnecessary for me to sign Senate Bill
849.
