BLAIR LEE III, Acting Governor
3045
Way 29, 1978
Honorable Steny H. Hoyer
President of the Senate
State House
Annapolis, Maryland 21404
Dear Mr. President:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 435.
This Administration bill separately subclassifies real
property for assessment purposes, defines homestead
property, and provides for an additional special allowance
of 5 percent of current value for the calculation of the
full cash value of homestead property.
House Bill 766, which was enacted by the General
Assembly and signed by me on May 2, 1978, is the companion
Administration bill which accomplishes the same purpose.
Therefore it is unnecessary for me to sign Senate Bill
435.
Sincerely,
Blair Lee III
Acting Governor
