The commissioners shall serve without compensation for
their duties, but shall be reimbursed for necessary travel
and other expenses incurred in the performance of their
duties in accordance with the standard travel regulations.
The terms of the commissioners shall be six years, or until
their successors are appointed and qualified. Commissioners
shall be eligible for reappointment. Upon the death,
disability, resignation, or removal of any commissioner, the
Secretary of Economic and Community Development, with the
approval of the Governor, shall appoint a person to serve
for the unexpired term. From time to time the Secretary of
Economic and Community Development, with the approval of the
Governor, shall designate one member of the Commission as
chairman, who shall hold such office at the pleasure of the
Secretary of Economic and Community Development.]

260.

[It shall be the duty of the Director and the
Commission to] THE DIVISION SHALL:

(1) Investigate and assemble information
pertinent to the economic development, industrial
opportunities and economic resources of the State, including
raw materials, power and water resources, transportation
facilities, markets, labor, banking and financing
facilities, industrial sites and other fields of research.

{2) Encourage location of new industrial
enterprises in the State and the retention and expansion of
present enterprises in coordination with local governing
bodies and local economic development agencies.

(3)   Coordinate its activities with those of the
Division of Tourist Development in the promotion of tourism
in the State.

(4)    Encourage formation of local and sectional
development committees and cooperate with local civic groups
and other local, state and federal development agencies.

(5)    Disseminate information in the interest of
industrial development in this State, by publication,
advertising and other means.

(6)    Collect and assemble information and data
available from other State agencies and departments.

261.

So far as may be practicable in performance of its
duties in connection with collection and assembling of
information, the [Commission and/or the Director] DIVISION
shall make use of [such] pertinent data [as may be] secured
from the boards, commissions, agencies and institutions of
this State. The [Commission and the Director] DIVISION
shall have access to all records, data, information and
