CHAPTER 1009

(House Bill 1585)

AN ACT concerning

Municipal Elections and Registration

FOR the purpose of requiring that in certain counties county

election boards conduct municipal elections; and

providing that under certain conditions registration in
a county is considered registration for certain
municipalities.

BY renumbering

Article 33 - Election Code

Section 2-9(b) through (f), inclusive
to be Section 2-9(c) through (g), inclusive
Annotated Code of Maryland

(1976 Replacement Volume and 1977 Supplement)

BY adding to

Article 33 - Election Code

Section 2-9(b) and 3-2(d)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1976 Replacement Volume and 1977 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section(s) 2-9(b) through (f), respectively,

of Article 33 - Election Code, of the Annotated Code of

Maryland be renumbered to be Section(s) 2-9(c) through (g),

respectively.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That sections(s)

of the Annotated Code of Maryland be repealed, amended, or
enacted to read as follows:

Article 33 - Election Code

(B) IN A COUNTY WHERE THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OR

COUNTY COUNCIL AND THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNING BODY HAVE AGREED,

THE ELECTION BOARD FOR THE COUNTY SHALL CONDUCT MUNICIPAL

ELECTIONS. THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNING BODY SHALL PROVIDE ANY

ADDITIONAL FUNDS NECESSARY TO CONDUCT THE ELECTIONS.
