BLAIR LEE III, Acting Governor 264 3 SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF Article 64A - Merit System 9Q. (A) AS OF JULY 1, 1978, PERSONS EMPLOYED BY SOMERSET SERVICE UNDER THIS ARTICLE WITHOUT EXAMINATION OR FURTHER QUALIFYING REQUIREMENT. (B) THE SECRETARY OF PERSONNEL SHALL CLASSIFY THESE EMPLOYEES IN THE APPROPRIATE EXISTING CLASSIFICATION ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 16 OF THIS ARTICLE. THE SALARY FOR THESE EMPLOYEES SHALL BE AS PROVIDED IN THE STATE BUDGET. SECTION. THESE EMPLOYEES SHALL BE APPOINTED TO POSITIONS IN THE MARYLAND DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE WITHOUT FURTHER EXAMINATION OF QUALIFICATION. THE EMPLOYEES SHALL BE PLACED (B) THE EMPLOYEES MAY NOT SUFFER A DIMINUTION OF SUBSEQUENT TO__PASSAGE OF THE LEGISLATION ENABLING THE TRANSFER, MAY BE RETAINED ON APPOINTMENT TO THE CLASSIFIED SERVICE ONLY IF THE SECRETARY OF PERSONNEL APPROVES. THE ANY AND ALL OTHER BENEFITS, ENTITLEMENTS, SERVICES OR PREROGATIVES AND, AT HIS DISCRETION AND IN CONSIDERATION OF OF SALARY ON APPOINTMENT.
