2242 LAWS OF MARYLAND Ch. 766
FOR the purpose of changing the name of the governing body
from "citizens' committee" to "Village Council";
providing for the authority to adopt certain
regulations; providing for the expenditure of funds;
providing for the compensation of Village Council
members; establishing the procedures by which the
Village Council enacts, publishes, and enforces in the
courts of Montgomery County regulations for certain
purposes; providing for election and succession of the
president, secretary, and treasurer and other officers;
and establishing requirements for holding and voting
for public office; exempting certain matter from
competitive bidding; providing the procedures by which
they assess and expend specific and general revenues;
authorizing the deposit of funds in savings and loan
associations; and clarifying language.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as
follows:
Article 16 — Montgomery County
67-1.
(a) For the purpose of this chapter, Martin's
Additions 1, 2, 3 and 4 to the Village of Chevy Chase, of
Montgomery County, Maryland, as hereinafter described shall
constitute a special tax area or district, and shall be
deemed and taken to comprise certain parcels of land,
namely:
