FOR the purpose of altering the salaries and allowing
reimbursement for expenses of members of the Board of
Supervisors of Elections in Caroline County and
Dorchester Counties; and prohibiting the salary
increase from affecting the incumbent.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 33 - Election Code
Section 2-3 (a) (6) and (10)
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1976 Replacement Volume and 1977 Supplement)

SECTION 1, BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 33 — Election Code

2-3.

(a) Each member of the boards of the several
political subdivisions of the State shall receive an annual
salary of not less than the following amounts:

(6) Caroline County: President [$750] $1,250;
associate members [$600] $1,000 each; AND REIMBURSEMENT FOR
EXPENSES AS PROVIDED BY THE STATE STANDARD TRAVEL
REGULATIONS.

(10) Dorchester County: [$500] $1,000; AND $500
FOR EXPENSES.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
may not be construed to extend or apply to the salary of the
members of the Board of Supervisors of Elections in office
on the effective date of this Act, but the provisions of
this Act concerning the salary of the members of the Board
of Supervisors of Elections shall take effect at the
beginning of the next following term of office.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1978.
