Article 100 - Work, Labor and Employment

Section 83 (3) (d)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1964 Replacement Volume and 1977 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 100 - Work, Labor and Employment

83.

Every employer shall pay to each of his employees,
except as may be provided pursuant to this subtitle, wages
at the following rates:

(3) All employees as may be subject to the provisions
of this subtitle shall receive a wage of one and one—half (1
1/2) times their usual hourly wage rate for any hours worked
in excess of forty (40) hours during any work week except
that this subsection shall not apply to any of the following
employees:

(d) Any employee who is employed as a salesman,
partsman, or mechanic primarily engaged in selling or
servicing automobiles, trailers, [or] trucks, OR FARM
IMPLEMENTS MACHINERY if employed by a nonmanufacturing
establishment primarily engaged in the business of selling
such vehicles to ultimate purchasers.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1978.

AN ACT concerning

Penalty for Receiving Stolen Goods, Money, or Securities

FOR the purpose of creating an alternative penalty in the
form of a fine for violations of the laws relating to
receiving stolen goods, money, or securities; and
providing the alternative of both a penitentiary
sentence and fine.
