provisions of this Act shall not be construed to extend or
apply to the salary of the Orphans' Court judges in office
on the effective date of this Act, but the provisions of
this Act concerning the salary of the Orphans' Court judges
shall take effect at the beginning of the next following
term of office.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1978.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article - Courts and Judicial Proceedings

8-106.

(a-17) Kent County - $15 EXPENSE MONEY; 15 cents
mileage allowance. If a juror's service extends past 6:00
p.m. on any day, he shall receive an additional day's pay.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1978.
