THE FOLLOWING INDIVIDUALS SHALL BE EMPLOYED IN EACH
COUNTY AS AUTHORIZED BY THE COUNTY BOARD:

(1) CLERICAL, STATISTICAL, AND STENOGRAPHIC

ASSISTANTS

(2)   PROFESSIONAL ASSISTANTS;

(3)   ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENTS;

(4)   SUPERVISING TEACHERS;

(5)   HELPING TEACHERS;

(6)   SUPERVISORS OF PUPIL PERSONNEL I;

(7)   SUPERVISORS OF PUPIL PERSONNEL II;

(8)   VISITING TEACHERS;

(9)   MEDICAL INSPECTORS; AND

(10)   SCHOOL NURSES.

(B)   APPOINTMENT OF PROFESSIONAL PERSONNEL.

(1) THE COUNTY SUPERINTENDENT SHALL NOMINATE FOR
APPOINTMENT BY THE COUNTY BOARD:

(1)   ALL PROFESSIONAL ASSISTANTS OF THE OFFICE OF
COUNTY SUPERINTENDENT; AND

(11)     ALL PRINCIPALS, TEACHERS, AND OTHER
CERTIFICATED PERSONNEL.

(2)    AS TO THESE PERSONNEL, THE COUNTY
SUPERINTENDENT SHALL:

(I)    ASSIGN THEM TO THEIR POSITIONS IN THE

SCHOOLS;

(II)   TRANSFER THEM AS THE NEEDS OF THE SCHOOLS
REQUIRE;

(III)   RECOMMEND THEM FOR PROMOTION; AND

(IV)    SUSPEND THEM FOR CAUSE AND RECOMMEND THEM
FOR DISMISSAL IN ACCORDANCE WITH §6-202 OF THIS ARTICLE.

(C)    APPOINTMENT OF CLERICAL AND NONPROFESSIONAL
PERSONNEL.

(1)    EXCEPT IN WORCESTER COUNTY AND BALTIMORE
CITY, THE COUNTY SUPERINTENDENT SHALL APPOINT CLERICAL AND
OTHER NONPROFESSIONAL PERSONNEL.

(2)      IN WORCESTER COUNTY, THE COUNTY
SUPERINTENDENT SHALL APPOINT CLERICAL AND OTHER
