6-101. ELIGIBILITY FOR CERTIFICATE NECESSARY.

UNLESS HE IS ELIGIBLE TO BE ISSUED A CERTIFICATE BY THE
STATE SUPERINTENDENT, AN INDIVIDUAL MAY NOT BE EMPLOYED AS A
COUNTY SUPERINTENDENT, ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT, SUPERVISOR,
PRINCIPAL, OR TEACHER.

6-102. RECIPROCITY IN CERTIFICATION OF TEACHERS.

(A)   AGREEMENTS WITH OTHER STATES.

SUBJECT TO THE RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE STATE
BOARD, THE STATE SUPERINTENDENT MAY MAKE AN AGREEMENT WITH
THE APPROPRIATE EDUCATIONAL AUTHORITY OF ANY OTHER STATE TO
PROVIDE FOR RECIPROCITY IN THE CERTIFICATION OF TEACHERS.

(B)   ACCEPTANCE OF ACCREDITATION FROM ANOTHER STATE.

SUBJECT TO THE RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE STATE
BOARD, THE STATE SUPERINTENDENT MAY ACCEPT THE
ACCREDITATION, FOR CERTIFICATION PURPOSES, OF A PROGRAM FOR
TEACHER PREPARATION IF:

(1)   THE ACCREDITATION IS GRANTED BY A RECOGNIZED
NATIONAL ACCREDITING AGENCY; AND

(2)   THE INSTITUTION PREPARING THE TEACHERS IS IN
ANOTHER STATE.

The Interstate Agreement on Qualifications of
Educational Personnel, which was executed under
subsection (a) of this section, now appears in
Subtitle 6 of this title.

6-103. CLASSES OF TEACHERS' CERTIFICATES.

(A)       TWO CLASSES.

TEACHERS' CERTIFICATES SHALL BE OF TWO CLASSES:

(1)       FIRST CLASS; AND

(2)       SECOND CLASS.

(B)       CERTIFICATES TO BE SECOND CLASS WHEN ISSUED.

EACH TEACHER'S CERTIFICATE ISSUED BY THE STATE
SUPERINTENDENT SHALL BE SECOND CLASS WHEN ISSUED.
