AN ACT concerning

Reflectorized Vehicle Registration Plates

FOR the purpose of permitting vehicle registration plates
issued by the Motor Vehicle Administration to be
reflectorized; and requiring the Administration to

obtain approval from the General Assembly prior to

reflectorizing registration plates.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article — Transportation

13-410.

(c) Registration plates may [not] be reflectorized
and shall be manufactured of a material warranted to have a
durability of at least 5 years. HOWEVER, PRIOR TO

REGISTRATION PLATES BEING REFLECTORIZED, THE ADMINISTRATION

SHALL OBTAIN APPROVAL OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY THROUGH A
BUDGET ITEM.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1978.
