AN ACT concerning

University of Baltimore Police

FOR the purpose of providing for a University of Baltimore
Police Force; limiting jurisdiction of the force to
certain property; providing for the promulgation of
rules and standards concerning the police force; and
generally relating to the University of Baltimore
Police.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland

(as enacted by Chapter of the Acts of the General

Assembly of 1978) be repealed, amended, or enacted to read
as follows:

Article - Education
14-202.

(A)    THERE IS A UNIVERSITY OF BALTIMORE POLICE FORCE.

(B)    (1) HAS MEMBERS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF BALTIMORE

POLICE FORCE SHALL HAVE ALL THE POWERS GRANTED TO A PEACE

AND POLICE OFFICER IN THIS STATE.

(2) HOWEVER A UNIVERSITY OF BALTIMORE POLICE
OFFICER MAY EXERCISE THESE POWERS ONLY ON PROPERTY THAT IS
OWNED, LEASED, OPERATED BY, OR UNDER THE CONTROL OF THE
UNIVERSITY OF BALTIMORE. THE POLICE OFFICER MAY NOT
EXERCISE THESE POWERS ON ANY OTHER PROPERTY UNLESS:

(I) ENGAGED IN FRESH PURSUIT OF A
SUSPECTED OFFENDER;

(II)

REQUESTED OR AUTHORIZED TO DO SO BY
