AN ACT concerning

Frederick County - Boards of Education
and Community College Trustees

FOR the purpose of altering the size mode of selection of
the Frederick Community College Board of Trustees;
prohibiting a member of the Frederick County Board of
Education from serving concurrently on the Frederick
Community College Board of Trustees; and generally
relating to members of the Board of Trustees and the
County Board of Education.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland

(as enacted by Chapter _____ of the Acts of the General

Assembly of 1978) be repealed, amended, or enacted to read
as follows:

Article — Education

16-508.

(a)    The Board of Community College Trustees for
Frederick County consists of seven members. Of the members:

(1)    Each shall be a resident of Frederick
County; AND

(2)    [Five] EACH shall be appointed by the
Governor under §16-201 of this title for [terms] A TERM of 5
years[; and].

[(3) Two shall be appointed by the Frederick
County Board of Education from among its membership for
terms of 1 year.]

(b)    (1) A member of the Board [appointed by the
Governor] OF COMMUNITY COLLEGE TRUSTEES may not serve more
than two consecutive 5 year terms.

(2) A MEMBER OF THE FREDERICK COUNTY BOARD OF
