CHAPTER 396

(House Bill 1667)

AN ACT concerning

Frederick County - Alcoholic Beverages
(Golf and Country Club Licenses)

FOR the purpose of establishing a golf and country club
alcoholic beverages license to be issued subject to
approval of the Frederick County Board of License
Commissioners; requiring a licensee to maintain a
regular or championship golf course of a certain number
of holes; permitting on-sale only to members and their
guests; requiring a certain annual fee as a condition
of the license; requiring the license be signed by
certain members of the club with a certain number of
signers from Frederick County; requiring the licensee
abide by Sunday opening laws; generally relating to
alcoholic beverage laws in Frederick County; clarifying
language; and making this Act an emergency measure.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 2B - Alcoholic Beverages

Section 20(h)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1976 Replacement Volume and 1977 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 2B - Alcoholic Beverages

20.

(h) (1) The annual fee for such license shall be

Frederick County after June 1, 1949, no such--license shall

THIS LICENSE MAY NOT be issued to any club which has not

been in business or regularly operating for a least three
years prior to appling for each APPLYING FOR THE license.
[Provided that this shall] THIS DOES not apply to any
nationally chartered and recognized bona fide fraternal,
charitable or veterans organization.

(2) (I) A SPECIAL CLASS C (GOLF AND COUNTRY
CLUB) LICENSE MAY BE ISSUED UPON APPROVAL BY THE BOARD OF
LICENSE COMMISSIONERS OF FREDERICK COUNTY TO ANY GOLF AND
COUNTRY CLUB IN THE COUNTY APPLYING FOR THE LICENSE WHICH
MAINTAINS AT THE TIME OF THE APPLICATION FOR THE LICENSE AND
