(ii) Nay suspend bis license to drive for
a period of not more than 1 year.

(e) (1) In addition to any other penalty provided
for in the Maryland Vehicle Law, if the required security
for a vehicle terminates or otherwise lapses during its
registration year, the Administration may assess the owner
of the vehicle with a penalty of up to [$60] $100 for each
vehicle without the required security.

(2) A penalty assessed under this subsection
shall be paid to the uninsured section of the Maryland

Automobile Insurance Fund EXCEPT FOR AN AMOUNT THE

ADMINISTRATION MAY DEDUCT TO COVER COSTS INCURRED UNDER THIS

SECTION. EXCEPT__THAT THE ADMINISTRATION MAY DEDUCT 10

PERCENT OF THE AMOUNT COLLECTED UNDER THIS SECTION IN ANY
YEAR TO COVER ITS COSTS BEFORE REMITTING THE BALANCE.

27-101.

(G) ANY PERSON WHO IS CONVICTED OF A VIOLATION OF ANY
OF THE PROVISIONS OF §13-704 OF THIS ARTICLE IS SUBJECT TO A
FINE OF NOT MORE THAN $1,000.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1978.

AN ACT concerning

Election Code - Voting Systems

FOR the purpose of providing certain definitions;
authorizing the State Administrative Board of Election
Laws to adopt certain rules and regulations governing
the review, approval, certification and decertification
of voting systems; requiring the local election boards
to use a certified voting system in all elections
conducted pursuant to the Election Code; authorizing
such boards to buy or lease certified systems and
related equipment; exempting such systems and equipment
from taxation; providing certain required standards for
approval; providing for the automatic certification of
certain systems and the prohibition of decertification
of these systems under certain conditions; providing an
exception to existing legal requirements of authorized
systems; providing for decertification under certain
conditions; requiring that the procedures for review,
approval, certification and decertification be included
