Employees - Collection of Unpaid Wages

FOR the purpose of permitting the Commissioner of Labor and
Industry to enter into reciprocal agreements with labor
departments in other jurisdictions to collect moneys
unlawfully withheld from Maryland residents by
out—of—state employers.

(1964 Replacement Volume and 1977 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 100 — Work, Labor and Employment

94.

(I) THE COMMISSIONER OF LABOR AND INDUSTRY MAY ENTER
INTO RECIPROCAL AGREEMENTS WITH OTHER STATE LABOR
DEPARTMENTS OR SIMILAR AUTHORITIES HAVING WAGE COLLECTION
JURISDICTION FOR THE PURPOSE OF COLLECTING MONEYS UNLAWFULLY
WITHHELD FROM EMPLOYEES BY OUT-OF-STATE EMPLOYERS.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1978.

CHAPTER 313

(House Bill 143)

AN ACT concerning

Assessments — Estimated Base

FOR the purpose of repealing certain provisions that
required the State Department of Assessments and
Taxation to provide to each subdivision and to publish
estimated assessable bases and that required certain
governing bodies to consider these bases in their tax

levies; and providing that the Department of

Assessments and Taxation, with respect to the constant

yield tax rate act, shall advertise the estimated

assessable base in accordance with a certain manner.
