bo construed to prevent the retirement of the employees
included in this Act after the completion of a

specified number of years of service; requiring the

appropriate State agencies to amend existing employee

retirement or pension plans prior to a certain date;

amending portions of Article 73B of the Annotated Code

which require mandatory retirement at age 70 for

Systems; abolishing the Maryland Employees Retirement

Review Board; providing for the repeal of any

inconsistent public general or public local laws;
creating a legislative task force to study the ways and
means of eliminating mandatory retirement for State,
county and municipal employees, and in the private
sector to report to the General Assembly by a certain
date; and relating generally to the prohibition against
mandatory retirement for members of the Employees' and
Teachers' Retirement Systems who are not elected or

appointed officials.
