The Board of Public Works - Approval of Contracts

FOR the purpose of authorizing the Board of Public Works to
require by rule or regulation that certain contracts,
contract renewals, or attendant change orders of any
State department, board, commission, or other agency of
the Executive Branch be approved by the Board of Public
Works; and generally relating to the authorization.

BY adding to

Article 78A - Public Works

Section 68 to be under the new subtitle "Approval of

Contracts"
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1975 Replacement Volume and 1977 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 78A - Public Works

APPROVAL OF CONTRACTS

68.

THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS MAY REQUIRE BY RULE OR
REGULATION THAT ANY CONTRACT, CONTRACT RENEWAL, OR ATTENDANT
CHANGE ORDER OF A DESIGNATED CLASS OR MONETARY VALUE OF ANY
STATE DEPARTMENT, BOARD, COMMISSION, INSTITUTION, OR OTHER
AGENCY OF THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH, BE BROUGHT BEFORE THE BOARD
OF PUBLIC WORKS FOR CONSIDERATION AND APPROVAL PRIOR TO
EXECUTION. THE PROVISIONS OF THIS SECTION ARE IN ADDITION
TO AND NOT IN LIEU OF OTHER POWERS AND AUTHORITIES GRANTED
THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1978.
