AN ACT concerning

Real Estate Commission — Nonresident
Licenses

FOR the purpose of requiring the Real Estate Commission to
issue to Maryland licensees moving from the State,
nonresident licenses in certain instances.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 56 — Licenses

Section 221(a)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 56 - Licenses

221.

(a) It shall be the duty of the Commission to issue
licenses as real estate broker or real estate salesman to
all applicants who shall be duly qualified under and who
shall comply with the provisions of law and all the
requirements of this subtitle and who give evidence of their
intention to engage actively in business as a real estate
broker or to become regularly engaged as a salesman by a
licensed real estate broker. THE COMMISSION, ON APPLICATION,
SHALL ISSUE TO A MARYLAND RESIDENT LICENSEE WHO MOVES FROM
THIS STATE BUT CONTINUES REGULARLY IN BUSINESS IN THIS STATE
A NONRESIDENT LICENSE.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1978.
