Director shall be filled by the Secretary of Licensing and
Regulation, with the approval of the Governor, for the
unexpired portion of the tern from a list of names of
qualified persons as aforesaid, to be submitted pursuant to
§ 161E hereof. The Director shall devote his entire time
to the duties of his office and shall be paid such salary as
may be provided for in the budget.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1978.

AN ACT concerning

Professional Land Surveyors

FOR the purpose of providing that each scholastic year of a
land surveying curriculum shall be considered
equivalent to a year of experience to professional land
surveyor applicants taking approved engineering and
land surveying curriculums.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 56 - Licenses

334 335.

(h) The satisfactory completion of each scholastic
year of a land surveying curriculum approved by the Board as
of satisfactory standing, without graduation, may be
considered as equivalent to a year of experience [in
subsection (b)(2) and (b)(3) of this section").

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1978.
