AN ACT concerning

State Law Library

FOR the purpose of transferring the State Library to the
Judiciary Department and providing that it shall
operate under the supervision of a library committee
appointed by the judges of the Court of Appeals of
Maryland; renaming it the State Law Library; providing
for the authority of the library committee; and
providing for the authority of the Director of the
State Law Library.

BY repealing

Article 41 — Governor — Executive and

Administrative Departments
Section 15 5, and the subtitle "State Library"
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1971 Replacement Volume and 1977 Supplement)

BY adding to

Article — Courts and Judicial Proceedings

Section 13-501 through 13—504, to be under the new

subtitle "Subtitle 5. State Law Library"
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1974 Volume and 1977 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

(a) The State Library shall be part of the Executive
Department and shall operate under the supervision of a
library committee to be appointed as provided in this
section.
