shall be construed to apply to all estates of decedents in
which the maximum State death tax credit allowable under
federal law still may be taken and preserved as of the
effective date of this Act, regardless of the date of the
decedent's death.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1978.

(House Bill 221)

AN ACT concerning

Militia - Per Diem

FOR the purpose of increasing the minimum per diem provided
for the militia for certain types of active duty.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 65 - Militia

Section 32(b)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1972 Replacement Volume and 1977 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 65 - Militia

32.

(b) Officers, warrant officers, and enlisted men
shall receive the same per diem pay, including longevity
pay, subsistence and allowances, as officers, warrant
officers and enlisted men of the regular Army of like grade
and length of service, but no such persons ordered to active
duty other than for training shall be paid a per diem of
less than [twenty dollars ($20.00)] $40 $25.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1978.
