LAWS OF MARYLAND

Ch- 22

In subsection (c) (1) of this section, new
language is added to give a January 1 beginning
date for the terms of office of County Board
members. This appears to be the statutory intent
of this section.

Subsection (d) of this section is rewritten for
clarity. In this regard, see the revisor's note
to §3-301 of this title.

The last sentence of present Art. 77, §36A(a)(1),
which relates to the incumbent board members
continuing to January 1, 1975, is deleted as
unnecessary.

In this section and throughout this title, all
present references to election procedures
including nomination, filing deadlines, filing
fees, and provisions for nonpartisan elections
are transferred to Art. 33, the Election Code.
In this regard, present Art. 77, §36A(b) is
transferred to Art. 33. For a detailed
cross—reference table to these provisions, see
the General Revisor's Note to this title.

The only other changes are in style.

3-1002. COMPENSATION AND EXPENSES.

(A)   COMPENSATION.

THE PRESIDENT OF THE COUNTY BOARD IS ENTITLED TO
RECEIVE $1,400 ANNUALLY AS COMPENSATION AND THE OTHER
MEMBERS ARE ENTITLED TO RECEIVE $1,200 EACH ANNUALLY AS
COMPENSATION.        THIS COMPENSATION IS TO BE PAID IN 12 EQUAL

MONTHLY INSTALLMENTS.

(B)   EXPENSES.

AFTER SUBMITTING VOUCHERS, MEMBERS SHALL BE REIMBURSED
FOR TRAVEL AND OTHER EXPENSES WITHIN THE LIMIT SET BY THE
WASHINGTON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as Art.
77, §36A(f).

In subsection (a) of this section, the present
reference to "compensation provided in the
Washington County Budget" is deleted as
unnecessary.

Also in subsection (a) of this section, the word
"president" is substituted for "presiding
officer" for conformity and to coincide with
actual practice.

The only other changes are in style.
