(House Bill 164)

AN ACT concerning

Vehicle Laws — Driving School and
Instructor Licenses

FOR the purpose of deleting a license expiration date for
drivers' school's or driving instructor's license in
order to provide that the same shall expire on April 30
of each year and providing that the license to conduct
a drivers' school shall be valid only during the
license year for which it is issued.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article - Transportation

15-108.

(a)    Except as provided in subsection (b) of this
section, each license issued under this title expires on
April 30 of each year.

(b)    [(1) 3 Each title service agent's license expires
on December 31 of each year.

[(2) Each drivers' school's or driving
instructor's license expires one year from the date on which
it was issued.]

(c)    A license issued under this title may be renewed
on application and payment of the fee required by this title
for that license.

15-707.

(a)    A license issued under this subtitle authorizes
the licensee to conduct a drivers' school [for 1 year from
the date on] DURING THE LICENSE YEAR FOR which the license
is issued.

(b)    The license shall be displayed conspicuously at
the location from which the business of the licensee is
conducted.
