AN ACT concerning

Unemployment Insurance Law — Appeals

FOR the purpose of extending the time for appeal from an
initial determination of a claim for benefits under the
Unemployment Insurance Law.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 95a — Unemployment Insurance Law

Section 7(c) (ii)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1969 Replacement Volume and 1977 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:

Article 95A — Unemployment Insurance Law

(c) (ii) A determination shall be deemed final
unless a party entitled to notice thereof files an appeal
within {seven] 15 days after the notice was mailed to his
last known address, or otherwise delivered to him; provided,
that such period may be extended by the Board of Appeals for
good cause.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1978.

AN ACT concerning

Health and Mental Hygiene — Board of Review

FOR the purpose of specifying that neither the Secretary nor
the Board of Review of the Department of Health and
Mental Hygiene does not have has jurisdiction in
matters involving disciplinary actions of health
profession licensing boards and the Commission on
Medical Discipline.
