Ch. 14
930
LAWS OF MARYLAND
EACH INDIVIDUAL RECEIVING PUBLIC ASSISTANCE FOR BLINDNESS.         THE SOCIAL SERVICES ADMINISTRATION PROMPTLY SHALL FURNISH THE REQUESTED INFORMATION. (B)        PERSONS TO BE EXAMINED. ON RECEIPT OF THE REQUESTED INFORMATION, THE ADMINISTRATION SHALL: (1)          AS SOON AS PRACTICABLE, ARRANGE FOR AN
EXAMINATION OF THE VISION OF EACH NAMED INDIVIDUAL WHO
HOLDS A DRIVER'S LICENSE; AND (2)           IF THE INDIVIDUAL FAILS TO MEET THE
VISION REQUIREMENTS OF THIS SUBTITLE, CANCEL HIS LICENSE. (C)   INFORMATION CONFIDENTIAL. (1) THE INFORMATION OBTAINED BY THE
ADMINISTRATION UNDER THIS SECTION: (I)   IS CONFIDENTIAL; (II)    MAY BE DISCLOSED ONLY ON COURT ORDER;
AND (III)   MAY BE USED ONLY TO DETERMINE THE
QUALIFICATIONS OF AN INDIVIDUAL TO DRIVE. (2)   A PERSON MAY NOT USE THIS INFORMATION FOR
ANY OTHER PURPOSE. REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as
Art. 66 1/2, §6-110.2. In subsection (a) of this section, the current
title "Social Services Administration" is
substituted for "State Department of Social
Services" to conform with the changes made by
Ch. 96, Acts of 1970. Subsection (b)(1) of this section is revised
to clarify that the examination is for vision
only. Subsection (c)(1) of this section is     new language added for clarity and to conform to the similar provisions appearing in
§§16-118(d) and 16-119(d). Subsection (c)(2) of this section is revised
to prohibit any other use, not merely use for
"commercial or political purpose"; this would
appear to have been the intent of the source
law and conforms to the similar provisions in
§§16-118(d) and 16-119(d).
The only other changes are in style.
