REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from Art. 66 1/2,
§3-601.
Subsection (a) of this section is new language
derived from present Art. 66 1/2, §3-813,
which refers to "registration plates issued to
each manufacturer, dealer or distributor"; the
reference to a "factory branch" is added to
conform to current practice and correct an
apparent oversight.
Subsection (b) of this section also is new
language added for clarity and to reflect
current practice as to the application for and
issuance of these special plates.
Throughout this section, the term "licensed
dealer" is substituted for "registered
dealer"; see §11-129 of this article.
The present reference to the operation of a
vehicle "without registering the vehicle" and
to the condition that the vehicle "displays
{the plate} in the manner prescribed in" §
13-411 of this title is deleted as no longer
necessary -in light of the addition of new
§13-620(a) and (b) of this subtitle; see
revisor's note to that section.
Similarly, present §3—601(d), as to the
"forfeiture" of plates, and present §3-601(e),
as to the suspension, etc., of a dealer's
license, are deleted as unnecessary in light
of new §13-620(c) of this subtitle.
