(II) AS TO VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS AND
DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS, IS NOT IN EXCESS OF THE
NUMBER OF REGISTRATION PLATES THAT THE ADMINISTRATION
DETERMINES CAN BE MANUFACTURED WITH THE COMBINATIONS
PERMITTED UNDER THIS TITLE.
(C) FEES.
NO FEE IN ADDITION TO THE ANNUAL REGISTRATION FEE
OTHERWISE REQUIRED BY THIS TITLE IS REQUIRED FOR SPECIAL
REGISTRATION UNDER THIS SECTION.
(C) ASSIGNMENT OF SPECIAL NUMBER.
A SPECIAL REGISTRATION NUMBER ASSIGNED UNDER THIS
SECTION SHALL CONSIST OF THE FOLLOWING LETTERS, FOLLOWED
BY THE NUMERALS THAT THE ADMINISTRATION SPECIFIES:
(1) FOR A MEMBER OF THE VETERANS OF FOREIGN
MARS, THE LETTERS "VFW";
(2) FOR A MEMBER OF THE DISABLED AMERICAN
VETERANS, THE LETTERS "DAV"; AND
(3) FOR A MEMBER OF THE AMERICAN LEGION, THE
LETTERS "AL".
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from Art. 66 1/2,
§3-605 (a), (b), and (c).
As to the revision of this section, generally,
see revisor's note to §13-613 of this
subtitle.
In subsection (a) (2) of this section, the more
general reference to a "Class E (Truck)
vehicle" is substituted for the obsolete
"pickup truck". Neither the Administration
nor the Maryland Vehicle Law makes any
distinction in the registration of vehicles
between a pickup truck or any other 3/4 ton
truck, such as a van (cf., §13-918 of this
title). See, also, present Art. 66 1/2,
§3-607(e) - now §13-616(a)(2) of this subtitle
- which uses this general "Class E"
designation.
In subsection (d) of this section, the present
description of the requisite size of the
registration number is deleted as no longer
necessary in light of the addition of new
§13—612 of this subtitle; see revisor's note
to that section.
