LAWS OF MARYLAND
THE CARD SHALL STATE CLEARLY THAT IT IS NOT A LICENSE
TO DRIVE A MOTOR VEHICLE. (F)    USE OF CARD. A SPECIAL IDENTIFICATION CARD MAY BE USED AS LEGAL
IDENTIFICATION OF THE INDIVIDUAL TO WHOM IT IS ISSUED
FOR ANY PURPOSE. (G)    EXPIRATION AND RENEWAL. A SPECIAL IDENTIFICATION CARD EXPIRES EVERY TWO 2
YEARS.        IT MAY BE RENEWED ON APPLICATION AND PAYMENT OF THE FEE REQUIRED BY SUBSECTION (B) OF THIS SECTION. (H) INFORMATION AS TO AVAILABILITY OF CARDS. THE ADMINISTRATION SHALL USE THE COMMUNICATIONS MEDIA THROUGHOUT THIS STATE TO INFORM RESIDENTS ABOUT
SPECIAL IDENTIFICATION CARDS AND TO ENCOURAGE ELIGIBLE
INDIVIDUALS TO USE THEM. REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as
Art. 66 1/2, §6—601 and the second sentence of
Art. 66 1/2, §6-602(c). In subsection (d) of this section, the present
reference to a violation of its provisions as
being a "misdemeanor" is deleted as unnecessary in light of §27—101 of this
article. Subsection (f) of this section is revised to
conform to the like provisions of §12—302 (e)
of this subtitle as to the use of age of
majority cards. Present Art. 66 1/2, §6-601(g), which
empowers the Administration to adopt rules and
regulations to implement this section, is
deleted as unnecessary in light of §12-104 of
this title. The only other changes are in style. 12-302. AGE OF MAJORITY IDENTIFICATION CARD. (A) ISSUANCE OF CARD. ON APPLICATION, THE ADMINISTRATION SHALL ISSUE AN
AGE OF MAJORITY IDENTIFICATION CARD TO ANY ADULT WHO: (1)       IS A RESIDENT OF THIS STATE; AND (2)       ON APPLICATION TO THE ADMINISTRATION, PRESENTS: (I) A BIRTH CERTIFICATE AS PROOF OF AGE; AND
