MARVIN MANDEL, Governor 641
TITLES 11 THROUGH 21 OF THIS ARTICLE MAY BE CITED AS
THE MARYLAND VEHICLE LAW.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as
Art. 66 1/2, §19-103.
In preparing the Transportation Article, the
Commission to Revise the Annotated Code
included present Art, 66 1/2 (Vehicle Laws) as
Titles 11 through 27 of this article.
Consequently, to avoid confusion and possible
substantive changes, unqualified references in
present Art. 66 1/2 to "this article" have
been revised in these titles to refer instead
to the short title "Maryland Vehicle Law" and
thus retain unchanged the basic scope of the
original reference.

GENERAL REVISOR'S NOTE:
In revising this subtitle, the Commission to Revise
the Annotated Code transferred to it those provisions of
present Art. 66 1/2, Subtitle 19 that are of current
value and not otherwise duplicated elsewhere. The
following provisions of that subtitle have been deleted:
(1) Art. 66 1/2, §19-102. This section
provides that the various "headings" or catchlines used
in the Maryland Vehicle Law are not part of the law. It
is unnecessary in light of Art. 1, §18 of the Code to the
same effect.
(2) Art. 66 1/2, §19-105. This section is a
general severability clause and is unnecessary in light
of Art. 1, §23 of the Code to the same effect.
(3) Art. 66 1/2, §19-107. This section
specifies the time that present Art. 66 1/2 took effect:
January 1, 1971, except where a different effective date
specifically was provided. As to present Art. 66 1/2,
that provision is obsolete; as to the revised Maryland
Vehicle Law, see Section 11 of Ch. ___, Acts of 1977,
which provides for an effective date of July 1, 1977.
