IT IS THE PURPOSE OF THIS COMPACT TO PROVIDE FOR
THE MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION OF AN AIRPORT IN A PRUDENT
AND ECONOMICAL MANNER, AND THIS COMPACT SHALL BE
LIBERALLY CONSTRUED AS GIVING TO THE AUTHORITY FULL AND
COMPLETE POWER REASONABLY REQUIRED TO GIVE EFFECT TO THE
PURPOSES HEREOF. THE PROVISIONS OF THIS COMPACT ARE IN
ADDITION TO AND NOT IN DEROGATION OF ANY POWER EXISTING
IN THE COUNTY COMMISSIONS AND MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS
HEREIN NAKED UNDER ANY CONSTITUTIONAL, STATUTORY, OR
CHARTER PROVISIONS WHICH THEY OR ANY OF THEM MAY NOW
HAVE OR MAY HEREAFTER ACQUIRE OR ADOPT.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section presently appears as
Art. 1A, §§ 11-101 through 11-112. Since it
is an interstate compact, no change has been
made in the text other than to correct certain
minor typographical and grammatical errors,
substitute the term "this Compact" tor "this
title" and "this Act", and - for clarity and
consistency, substitute "municipal
corporations" for "municipalities."

Title 5 of this article.

SUBTITLE 2. MASS TRANSIT - WASHINGTON METROPOLITAN AREA
TRANSIT REGULATION AND AUTHORITY.
10-201. DEFINITIONS.
(A) "ARTICLE", "SECTION", AND "TITLE" DEFINED.
IN THE COMPACT SET FORTH IN THIS SUBTITLE, UNLESS
THE CONTEXT CLEARLY REQUIRES OTHERWISE, "ARTICLE",
"SECTION", AND "TITLE" MEAN AN ARTICLE, SECTION, AND
TITLE, RESPECTIVELY, OF THE COMPACT.
(B) INAPPLICABILITY OF CERTAIN DEFINITIONS.
THE DEFINITIONS IN §1-101 OF THIS ARTICLE DO NOT
APPLY TO THE COMPACT SET FORTH IN THIS SUBTITLE.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language added
to prevent possible confusion over the scope
of the terms "article", "section", and
"title", as they appear in the Compact or as
to the possible applicability of the
definitions appearing in §1-101 of this
article. The Compact contains its own
definitions in Title II, Article VII, and in
Title III, Article I, of the Compact.
10-202. EXECUTION OF COMPACT.
