CHARTER AMENDMENT
RESOLUTION NO. 20
ANNEXATION RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF
FROSTBURG, MARYLAND, TO ENLARGE THE CORPORATE BOUNDARIES
OF THE CITY, AND THEREBY AMEND THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF
FROSTBURG.
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council of Frostburg,
pursuant to the authority set forth in Article XI—E of
the Constitution of the State of Maryland, and Section 19
of Article 23A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957
Edition, as supplemented and amended), title
"Corporations — Municipal", subtitle "Annexation", deem
it in the public interest to enlarge the corporate
boundaries of the City of Frostburg; and
WHEREAS, the area to be annexed is contiguous and
adjacent to the existing corporate area, and the consent
for annexation has been obtained from not less than
twenty—five per centum (25%) of the persons who reside in
the area to be annexed and who are registered voters in
Allegany County, and from twenty—five per centum (25%) of
the assessed valuation of the real property located in
said area to be annexed.
