LAWS OF MARYLAND
Although present Art. 89B, §32 was amended in
1970 to include references to the
Transportation Trust Fund and the Secretary of
Transportation, references to the "State Roads
Commission" were left unchanged. Commission
research indicates that this was an oversight
and the correct agency nomenclature - "State
Highway Administration" — has been
substituted; in this regard, see, also, §8—207
of this title.
SUBTITLE 6. CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE. PART I. GENERAL PROVISIONS. 8-601. RESPONSIBILITY FOR CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE
OF STATE HIGHWAYS. (A)   POWERS AND DUTIES IN GENERAL. THE ADMINISTRATION SHALL CONSTRUCT, RECONSTRUCT, AND
REPAIR STATE HIGHWAYS AS NECESSARY AND SHALL MAINTAIN
THEM IN GOOD CONDITION. (B)  I-95 IN PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY. THE DEPARTMENT MAY NOT SPEND ANY FURTHER FUNDS FOR
THE CONSTRUCTION OF I-95 THROUGH PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY
THAT WILL INVOLVE A NEW OR RECONSTRUCTED SEGMENT

from Art. 89B, §211S. As to present §65, the present authorization
to change the projected location of a proposed
highway is deleted as unnecessary in light of
§8-204(c) of this title and Part II of this
subtitle. As to present §68, the present authorization
to adopt a systematic program of construction
and repair, as well as the power to employ
persons and purchase equipment, is deleted as
unnecessary in light of §8-204 (c) and (e) of
this title and Part II of this subtitle. As to present §§69 and 70, the present
requirements that the Administration construct
driveways at State institutions and roads in
State Parks are deleted as obsolete. However,
it should be noted that §8-204(d) of this
