PROCLAMATION OF JUNE 25, 1976
POTOMAC HIGHLANDS AIRPORT AUTHORITY
WHEREAS, By Chapter 253 of the Acts of 1976, the General
Assembly of Maryland, created the Potomac Highlands
Airport Authority for the purpose of authorizing
intergovernmental agreements relating to the
operation of the Cumberland Municipal Airport; and
WHEREAS, I approved and signed Chapter 253 on May 4,
1976; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 253 provides:
"That this Act may not take effect until a similar
Act is passed by the State of West Virginia; that
the State of West Virginia is requested to concur in
this Act of the General Assembly of Maryland by the
passage of a similar Act; and that thereupon the
Governor of the State of Maryland shall issue a
proclamation declaring this Act valid and
effective."; and
WHEREAS, The West Virginia Legislature, by the enactment
of House Bill 736 of the Acts of the Regular Session
of 1976 has passed a similar Act thereby concurring
with Chapter 253 of the Acts of 1976;
WHEREAS, The Honorable Arch A. Moore, Jr., Governor of
West Virginia, on March 4, 1976, signed House Bill
736 into law, to be effective upon the enactment by
the State of Maryland of similar legislation;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, MARVIN MANDEL, GOVERNOR OF MARYLAND,
pursuant to the authority vested in me by the
provisions of Chapter 253 of the Acts of The General
Assembly of Maryland of 1976, hereby proclaim the
provisions of Chapter 253 of The Acts of The General
Assembly of Maryland of 1976, as codified in Title
11 of Article 1A of The Annotated Code of Maryland
(1976 Volume and 1976 Supplement), to be valid and
effective.
