Senate Bill No. 814 - Kent County - Public Landings
AN ACT concerning
Kent County - Public landings
FOR the purpose of authorizing the County Commissioners
of Kent County to establish charges for the use of
public landings in Kent County, and to set a fee in
one amount for residents of Kent County and a fee in
a different amount for nonresidents, and providing
for a certain exception.

Dear Mr. President:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill
814.
This bill authorizes the County Commissioners of
Kent County to charge a fee for the use of certain public
boat landings in the County.
The Attorney General has advised me that Senate Bill
814 is in contravention of Article XI-F, Section 9 of the
Maryland Constitution, regarding the taxing powers of a
code county. A copy of the Opinion of the Attorney
General is attached and should be considered a part of
this veto message.
For this reason, I have decided to veto Senate Bill
814.
