WHEREAS, The proposed cutoff of these impact aid
funds by the Carter Administration would mean a property
tax increase in several subdivisions; and
WHEREAS, President Jimmy Carter had promised in his
election campaign for the White House to increase
educational assistance to hard pressed communities
throughout the nation dependent upon impact aid; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, That
this Body urges the Carter Administration to reconsider
its position on the nationwide funding of impact aid and
take immediate steps to restore these critically needed
funds; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution be sent
to: President Jimmy Carter; Secretary of HEW, Joseph
Califano; budget Director, Burt Lance; Senate Majority
Leader, Robert C. Byrd; President of the Senate, Walter
Mondale; Speaker of the House, Thomas P. O'Neill; House

A House Joint Resolution concerning
Her Royal Highness Princess Anne
of Great Britain
FOR the purpose of requesting the Governor and others to
welcome Her Royal Highness Princess Anne of Great
Britain to Queen Anne's County, Maryland.
WHEREAS, 1977 is the 270th Anniversary of the
founding of Queen Anne's County; and
WHEREAS, The Wye Institute has donated a statue of
Queen Anne of Great Britain in whose honor the County was
named; and
