MARVIN MANDEL, Governor
was repelled. Unlike our new Nation's Capitol, Baltimore
had been saved from destruction; and WHEREAS, There is no substitute for bravery; there
is no substitute for patriotism; and most of all there is
no substitute for our National Anthem; now, therefore, be
it RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, That
the leaders of the Sports' Associations and Media are
hereby requested to require the playing of our National
Anthem before all sporting events; and be it further RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution be sent to
the following: Mr. Peter Rozelle, Commissioner of the
National Football League, 410 Park Ave., New York, New
York 10022; Mr. Bowie Kuhn, Commissioner of Baseball, 18
W. 51st St., Rockefeller Center, New York, New York
10019; Mr. Herbert S. Schlosser, Chairman, NBC, 30
Rockefeller Plaza, New York, New York 10020; Mr. Lenard
Goldenson, Chairman, ABC, 1313 Avenue of the Americas,
New York, New York 10019; Mr. William Paley, Chairman,
CBS, 51 W. 52nd Street, New York, New York 10019; and Mr.
Victor P. Doda, President, Locust Point Civic
Association, Inc., P. O. Box 6302, Baltimore, Maryland

No. 32 (House Joint Resolution 51) A House Joint Resolution concerning A Citizens Bicycle Study Committee FOR the purpose of requesting the Department of
Transportation, in consultation with the Department
of Public Safety and Correctional Services and the
Department of Education, and pursuant to the advice
and counsel of representatives of certain State,
county and municipal subdivisions and agencies,
highway user groups and associations, bicycling
groups and associations, and such other individuals
and organizations as may be determined to be able to
contribute pertinent knowledgeable input, to
organize a special Citizens Bicycle Study Committee
to review certain concerns relating to bicycles and
their use and make appropriate recommendations for
the resolution of those concerns, with the goal of
