(1) In Worcester County, in addition to the other
powers listed in this section, the board shall pay the
salary, not to exceed [the sum of thirty-five hundred
dollars ($3,500,00) $3,500 annually, of an officer to
enforce the laws relating to alcoholic beverages in
[said] THE county. The officer shall be appointed by the
County Commissioners subject to the approval by State's
Attorney of the county. [The liquor control board in
Worcester County shall not sell beer at a profit in
excess of ten cents per case or one dollar per barrel.]

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and
necessary for the immediate preservation of the public
health and safety and having been passed by a yea and nay
vote supported by three—fifths of all the members elected
to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly, the
same shall take effect from the date of its passage.
