Article 2B - Alcoholic Beverages Section 20(c)(iv) Annotated Code of Maryland (1976 Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement)
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 20(c)(iv) of Article 2B
Alcoholic Beverages, of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1976 Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement) be and it
is hereby repealed and reenacted, with amendments, to
read as follows; Article 2B - Alcoholic Beverages 20. (c) (iv) 1. A special Class C (golf and
country club) license shall be issued, upon approval by
the board of license commissioners of Anne Arundel
County, to any golf and country club in [said] THE county
applying therefor which has [two hundred (200) ] 200 or
more bona fide members paying dues of not less than
[seventy-five ($75.00)] $75 per annum per member, which
maintains at the time of the application for the license
two or more tennis courts, a swimming pool at least 30
feet by 80 feet in size, and a regular or championship
golf course of [9] NINE holes or more. [Such a] THE
license [shall authorize] AUTHORIZES the holder [thereof]
to keep for sale and to sell at retail any alcoholic
beverages to any customer at the place described in
[said] THE license for consumption on or off its
premises. The annual fee for [such a] THIS golf and
country club license [shall be fifteen hundred dollars
($1,500)] IS $1,500, which shall be paid to [said] clerk
before any [such] license is issued. The application for
any [such] license filed on behalf of any such golf and
country club in Anne Arundel County shall be signed by at
least one officer of [said] THE club, who [shall be] IS a
resident, registered voter and taxpayer of Anne Arundel
County. [Such] THE golf and country club license [shall
be] IS subject to all the provisions of this article,
except that any restrictions against the sale of
alcoholic beverages on Sundays, appearing elsewhere in
this article, [shall] DOES not apply to any licensee
holding [said] THE special Class C (golf and country
club) license; a special Class C (country club) license
for an annual fee [for such license] of [six hundred and
twenty-five dollars (625.00)] $625 to be paid to [said]
THE clerk before issuance thereof after approval of
issuance of such license by said board, may also be
issued in Anne Arundel County to a country club meeting
the aforementioned requirements other than the
requirements for a regular or championship golf course of
[9] NINE holes or more; but which country club instead
shall be required to have, in addition to the other
requirements, not less than 15 acres of ground for [said]
