(C) THE COMMISSION MAY NOT AUTHORIZE TELEPHONE
COMPANY CHARGES TO BE LEVIED FOR DIRECTORY ASSISTANCE
CALLS MADE BY RESIDENTIAL CUSTOMERS. UPON THE FIRST 12
CALLS MADE TO DIRECTORY ASSISTANCE FROM EACH RESIDENTIAL
SERVICE PER MONTHLY BILLING CYCLE. THE COMMISSION MAY
NOT AUTHORIZE TELEPHONE COMPANY CHARGES TO BE LEVIED FOR
DIRECTORY ASSISTANCE UPON ANY PERSON OR PERSONS WHO
SUFFER FROM PHYSICAL OR VISUAL HANDICAPS WHICH PRECLUDE
THEIR USE OF TELEPHONE DIRECTORIES AND IT MAY PROVIDE
OTHER EXEMPTIONS WHICH ARE JUST AND REASONABLE.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1977.

AN ACT concerning
Property Tax Assessments - Reduction
FOR the purpose of requiring authorizing the Department
of Assessments and Taxation under certain conditions
to reduce the property tax assessment on certain
residential real property that has been damaged or
threatened by shifting land masses and unstable
soils in geological fault areas; and clarifying
language.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 19(h) be and it is hereby
added to Article 81 - Revenue and Taxes, of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1975 Replacement Volume and 1976
Supplement) to read as follows;
