AN ACT concerning
Calvert County - Loitering
FOR the purpose of prohibiting and regulating certain
conduct in certain situations in Calvert County.
BY adding to
The Public Local Laws of Calvert County
Section 273 to be under the new subtitle
"Loitering"
Article 5 - Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1963 Edition and 1970 Supplement, as amended)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Section 273 to be under the new
subtitle "Loitering" be and it is hereby added to the
Public Local Laws of Calvert County being Article 5 of
the Public Local Laws of Maryland (1963 Edition and 1970
Supplement, as amended) to read as follows:
Article 5
LOITERING
273.
(A) DEFINITIONS. AS USED IN THIS SUBTITLE, THE
FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE MEANINGS INDICATED:
(1) LOITER. "LOITER" MEANS TO IDLE, STAND,
REMAIN, GATHER OR BE A MEMBER OF A GROUP OR CROWD OF
PEOPLE WHO ARE GATHERED TOGETHER ON ANY COMMERCIAL
PREMISES WITHOUT CONDUCTING ANY LAWFUL BUSINESS WITH THE
OWNER OR OPERATION THEREOF, OR HAVING PATRONIZED THOSE
BUSINESS ESTABLISHMENTS TO REMAIN ON SUCH PREMISES HAVING
BEEN DIRECTED TO LEAVE BY THE OWNER, OPERATOR, OR AN
AUTHORIZED AGENT.
(2) COMMERCIAL PREMISES. "COMMERCIAL
PREMISES" MEANS ANY BUSINESS PREMISES OPERATED FOR PROFIT
OR TO WHICH THE GENERAL PUBLIC IS INVITED OR PERMITTED,
INCLUDING PARKING LOTS ADJACENT TO OR CONNECTED WITH
THOSE PREMISES AND SIDEWALKS USED BY THE GENERAL PUBLIC
